Congratulations to Mrs. Liz McGowan RCA Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to
Mrs. Liz McGowan
RCA Teacher of the Year

When asked, "How do you positively contribute to the culture, instruction, and larger purpose of RCA? Mrs. McGowan had the following to say:

"At RCA, career inquiry and academics are combined to create a challenging environment while developing lifelong learners. As an academic teacher, I work to encourage student growth while focusing on content they may not be interested in learning. I am a bridge between student curiosity and the compulsory curriculum.

While I am required to teach Georgia and College Board curriculum, I work to peak an interest in the past by connecting it to the present. I work to help students build inquiry skills; such skills are necessary for success in whichever pathway they choose.

RCA’s programs teach our students about their college and career options by giving hands on experience. I have tried to incorporate this same philosophy into day to day classroom activities and our annual Washington DC trip. There is no better way for our students to learn history than by living it.

We work to build creativity, character, and academic achievement. We set high expectations for students, faculty, and staff. I am proud to be a part of the RCA family."
